At Summit a presenter casually mentioned having the ability to turn off caching on the development box so you didn't have to bounce luminis whenever you made a change to nested-tables.xsl or any other file.
I posted a message to the LUMTECH list and here are the settings (thanks to Omar Barrera of South Texas College) :
$CP_WEBINF/uPortal/properties/portal.properties
org.jasig.portal.utils.XSLT.stylesheet_set_caching=off
org.jasig.portal.utils.XSLT.stylesheet_root_caching=off
org.jasig.portal.PortalSessionManager.url_caching=off
Last year, I presented and was able to scrape all the PPT files from the file system at Summit and posted them in one location (upper left links). This year, I was not so lucky - so ... if you presented either in the lounge or in a track please email me your PPT (or tell me how to grab it easily) and I'll upload them all into one place again this year. I don't wanna go clicky-clicky-clicky on Sungard's site all day to pull them all down (yea I know I'm lazy, but if you know me - you know that). I will if I have to but not looking forward to doing that if I don't.
I was approached yesterday by a desktop support person to let me know that the President's assistant had a name change. Our luminis logins are first initial last name, so when someone changes their last name due to a marriage or otherwise, their network login changes.
In case you haven't noticed, registration for Summit 2008 is now open.
Here's some information about the opening and closing sessions -
OPENING GENERAL SESSION
Its been a while since I've ranted so here it goes -
I've been looking at other portal software, CMS systems and general web stuff to re-architect our portal. We get many complaints that it is crowded, unorganized and its generally hard to find things.
A function I think would be quite neat / helpful is to be able to create a new page.
In Drupal, you can create a new Page to place whatever you want on it. For example this page - http://www.lumdev.net/node/3 - lists the Contribute page for LDN.
LDN has been nailed with spam-bots recently, creating accounts and posting crap comments to the site.
I've installed the 'Captcha' module a type of text-image verification, requiring new users to type in the characters in the image - I'm sure you've seen similar functions on other sites. Personally, I think they're a pain in the neck to use, often not accepting what I think is the correct answer, however, they get the job done, they stop the spam scripts from creating bogus accounts on the site. So I've conformed and added that function to the registration form.
I've added a new content tag called Luminis Version. You'll see it when you post something to the site.
Its self explanatory but your choices are :
All Versions
Luminis 3.x
Luminis IV.x
Other (other versions? UPortal / CampusPipeline .. ehem 2.x??)
Neither (Not luminis related)
This is a required field and defaults to All Versions.
I'll be tagging items as I read through them that are already posted.

I have many items on LDN bookmarked and realized that I could simply add a module to save me from having to do that. After all, my bookmarks are only available on my work PC, and if I'm at home or on my laptop, I have to search for and bookmark it again if I need it.
So to get around all of that, I added a Favorites module. At the bottom of each post is a new link 'add to my favorites'. Once you add something to your favorites, it'll be listed under the My Account link.
This post will probably get me in trouble - but its been a bad day so I'll just wait for the emails and phone calls.
To fork off of this post ( http://www.lumdev.net/?q=node/1180 ) regarding the new oracle portal initiatives announced at Summit - I came across these 2 tid bits regarding Mark Boyd and Jan Nielsen while searching for something - can't even remember what now I'm so frazzeld -
