question regarding the web server tuneup

We went live on April 4th with our Luminis portal and it was wonderful. We got some good reviews from all communities on campus. After we went live, we noticed some performance issues. After a user logs in, he/she is waiting for couple of minutes for the initial load. I believe this is also resulting in the email channel not being rendered (the default time is 6 seconds for email channel) and the portal is taking longer than 6 seconds to load.

I spoke to zach and he suggested tuning the webserver (luminis 3.3.3.79). I downloaded the tuneup guide and changed the following files:

Hi,
We installed CAS on our Luminis 3.3.3.64 installation and made couple of applications (web based-PHP) to be SSO apps with our luminis server. The issue we are having is with the browser saving a user's details even after he/she logs off. to explain in detail i can list the steps a student takes:

Scenario:

1)Student A logs in the Luminis portal which has SSO capability with couple of other homegrown PHP based web applications. All the applications are available to the student with this one sign-in to luminis.

startcp not starting the web server and cptool list sessions giving an error

When i do a cptool list sessions, i get this error message:

ERROR: Event notification subsystem initialization failed. This is most likely because the JMS provider is not accepting connections. Aborting command.

Also when i start up the server using startcp command, it fails. it says it cannot start the messagebroker component of the web server. It gives an error message saying that the JMS validator timed out.

Any ideas how to fix the error?

"Domino" showing up as a user's userid/pwd after uploading an xml file

Hello All,
I have successfully uploaded all our campus student users onto Luminis db. We are running a 3.3.3.64 version.I am having a problem with my uploading users with employee and facutly roles. After i am uploading an employee or faculty record through the cptool import file command and then search for that user in the administration pages, i get the username, and userid as "Domino". When i click on Domino, the system says:

"COULDN'T SHOW ACCOUNT INFO FOR USER: domino
Click Here to edit user domino"

When i click the link shown in "Click here" it shows:

Email channel not showing up.

Hi,
we have Luminis 3.3.3.64 version on campus on solaris server and have an email server called Mirapoint (its not exchange/outlook). We have developed a gcf connecter to get all our mirapoint email to be shown in the welcome tab for all users. Also our instance of Luminis is authenticating against the LDAP.

Missing Channel

Hi,
In my Luminis portal, i found a missing channel link. I am posting the snapshot/picture of the error message that i am getting. The error numbers are:

In an administrator layout - this is the error number/message i am getting:
Channel ID: u12l1n150
Message: The 'Unknown' channel is no longer available. Please remove it from your layout.
Error type:Channel not available (code 7)

In an student-lo layout - this is the error number/message i am getting:
Channel ID:n150
Message: The 'Unknown' channel is no longer available. Please remove it from your layout.

Tutorial Tab missing

Hi,
Before i started the project, the Luminis product came with a standard tab called "Tutorial" which i believe was deleted by the previous guy. Now the training committee wants the "Tutorial" tab back. Does anyone know an easy way to restore the lost/not visible tutorial tab? (without messing up the current settings)?

Marketing Luminis portal

Hello All,
Today my boss wanted me to write a brief script/presentation of all the reasons why a user/student should use luminis? I believe this would be a good introductory statement/paragraph for me whenever i introduce luminis portal to a non-technical person on campus.

She basically wants me to be a salesman and try sell this portal product to the campus community. So she wants me to write all the bells and whistles that luminis can do which other applications cannot do.

I would appreciate any kind of input from here. I have this huge project in front of me which is to populate the Luminis portal with our users on campus. I have an ldiff file which has all the records and i have the luminis portal which expects all the users to be in xml format.
