We are having a problem with certain Banner channels rendering incorrectly in Firefox 2 (haven't tried Firefox 3 yet). Attached are 2 screenshots from our production side of Luminis, set to go live in September. As you will see, the channel information actually displays in the blue (header) for the channel below it. We don't have any customized layout that would cause this issue, this is simply a skin color scheme we have chosen for now.
I recently attempted to install cron for cygwin in our TEST environment, and found the process extremely difficult. I've actually ended up restoring the servers to a previous date to erase all that I had done, but I still want to have another go at this. When I did install cron, I also upgraded all the portions of cygwin that were installed on our systems, which may have caused most of the issues I had. The main issue I had with cron was with the file permissions under /var/cron/tabs/user (kept getting a BAD FILE MODE error in my cronbug.txt file)
I have been asked to look into ways of building a classified section for our Luminis IV environment. I am aware that there was a Classified channel that could be used in Luminis III, but I cannot find any information about using one in IV.
Within Group Studio, Internet Explorer treats Office 2007 files (they have the extra 'x' on the extension: docx, pptx, etc..) as if they are .zip files. I've uploaded both a Power Point presentation (pptx) and a few Word Documents (docx), but when you click on them to open/download, Internet Explorer changes the extension to a zip (ex: Luminis.docx to Luminis.zip). We have seen this issue with both IE 6 and 7. Firefox does not have any problems with these files.
Has anyone else noticed a problem with Office 2007 documents, or found a workaround for this issue?
Thanks
I am trying to enabled an EAS, but have not been able to configure it correctly so far. I followed the steps in the "Luminis™ Platform Security SDK External Authentication Server Implementation Guide Version C Jan 26, 2007 For use with Luminis Platform IV." Here are my configuration settings:
jaas.conf (located in $JAVA_HOME\lib\security)
jaasEas {
com.pipeline.security.authen.JaasEasLegacyLoginModule required prefix=security.ias.eas;
};
in java.security (located in $JAVA_HOME\lib\security)
I have added the following line:
After doing a good amount of research and a whole lot of trial and error, I've successfully added 3 new Custom icons to our Luminis environment. These Icons are to be displayed to every user in our system, so Roles are not a factor in these steps.
I should note that these steps were based off of Jeremy Baumli’s post (http://www.lumdev.net/node/1449). The steps that follow differ only slightly, with some more details that I found helpful.
I created three new icons, each of which simply point to an existing URL associated with our college.
I am attempting to modify the footer in Luminis IV 4.0.1. I want to change the text of 'Copyright © SunGard Higher Education 1998 - 2007' to the name of our institution, and to replace the SunGard logo (doing that later) in the footer as well. So far, I have edited the nested-tables.properties file to the following:
COPYRIGHT=School Name
I also, after backing up, unpacked the luminis-resources-4.0.1.jar, edited the nested-tables.properties file within /org/jasig/portal/layout/tab-column/nested-tables directory the same as before, with COPYRIGHT=School Name.
Is there a way to modify the 'My Courses' channel, so that it will actually show the courses instead of the 'Click Here to', where the user has to click on a link to see their courses, profs, etc.. I'm not exactly sure what information we would like to ultimately display, I'm just looking for a start to the process, or some advice from others who have already done this. Thanks in advance!!
Does a user have to be an admin to create/modify a channel? I have not found a way within Groups to give a user access to creating/modifying a channel, without giving them access to all other administrative functions.
