LDN - Luminis Developer Network

I was hoping to get some help on a channel idea.

We run Exchange as our unified email system, and students ONLY have OWA access.

I wanted to develop a channel that displayed the following:
1) Current size / Quota Max
2) An dynamic check to see if they have new email.

I know that there is a Luminis provided channel to pull in the emails, but I have heard many report it does not work correctly. I believe SCT confirmed that to be the case.

SO... Have ANY of you done either of these? If so.. can you share some of the details?
