Installing a patch?

This is my first time installing a patch, the other patches were installed by the installer. Having a bit of trouble getting it to run so I thought I would post it here to see what I'm doing wrong.

We're on a solaris 10 system and had 4.0.1.5 installed. I need to install the .0.1.1 patch, so I uninstalled the .0.1.5 patch by running "patchcp -u" and then the version. Worked fine. Now I need to install the patch.

Here's what I did:
1. Log in as root user
2. I copied the patch to directory root/tmp/patch4.0.1.1
3. I set my working directory to that same directory
4. I make sure that the patch is executable by all
5. I try to run the patch

No matter what I try I keep getting this error:

-bash-3.00# cd patch4.0.1.10
-bash-3.00# ls
LP-4.0.1.10-solaris
-bash-3.00# ./LP-4.0.1.10-solaris
Error: Cannot start Luminis installer: No such file or directory
Trying to execute: /tmp/luminis-install/bin/main --hidden=/tmp/luminis-install/hidden.args
-bash-3.00#

Do I not have the patch in the right directory?

Patch they sent was corrupt.

Patch they sent was corrupt. Downloaded it again and it seems to be working.

The patch we are trying is 4.0.1.10
We're getting a strange lag sometimes during login and navigating through the portal. Trying the patch to see if it solves the problem.

4.0.1.10 patch

Where did you get hold of the 4.0.1.10 patch, the only one I can see on the customer support center is 4.0.1.5. Do you have a list of issues it addresses?

4.0.1.1 or 4.0.1.10

Are you sure you have the 4.0.1.10 patch and not the 4.0.1.1 patch? I don't see a .10 patch out on support unless they sent you an advanced copy...

4.0.1.10

Its an untested patch that's due out later this fall. Not sure what all its supposed to fix, but in our case it didn't seem to fix anything. I didn't get any release notes with it, so I can't advise anything about it.

-bash-3.00$ cpver
Luminis Platform 4.0.1.10 build 10
4.0.1.0 build 350
4.0.0.0 build 3593
