Site Demos/Guest Logins

I'm curious who out there has demo or guest logins to their portal. As we all look for innovative ideas, looking to each other is one of the best ways to do that. Additionally, it is good to share with some of my colleagues here what other schools are doing.

What version of Luminis are you running @ Wayne State? (Basic, Premier, Foundation)? We're running Luminis Basic III.2, and I like how you have the 'My Pipeline links' channel setup - are these custom channels that you created, or was this done via the CMS feature?

We are currently III.1 Premier in production. The Link lists are all just html (jsp inside the functioning portal) using the "Inline Frame" channel type. For the Stu/Emp/Fac Services links, we check to see if Banner is up and then grey out the Self-Service (grades, registration, time sheet, etc) links if it is down. Which used to happen alot :).

How are you linking straight into self service functions? I'd really like to figure that one out.

Great Idea
Here is what our portal here at Messiah looks like. I think it is a great idea if LDN users post a link to their portal so we can build off of each other's ideas. Just login with the guest account link that is right below the user credentials box.

Some guest sites I've accumulated
I don't know if it is considered cool to post other available sites but I have a short list that I've used to get ideas:
1) CSU has their production site available at
http://rampoint.colostate.edu
At the bottom of the login panel is a "View Faculty/Staff Demo" link and a "View Student Demo" link that you can poke around in to see how they have currently implemented a variety of things.
2) Example:

Choose myNEU in lower left corner.

I noticed that some schools are allowing guests to click on a link that will take them directly into their school portal. We are interested in doing the same, but I am not sure how you used the javascript to log you in automatically. What happens if someone changes the guest login password? Does your link break? I was thinking of putting a cron job in to update the password every so often.
Any general information about creating a guest account would be very helpful.
