Banner ID as Immutable ID

Hi,

Could someone tell me exactly how to set up for us to use the Banner ID as the immutable ID? I've looked in a few Guides but I'm still unclear. I've seen posts of others doing this so if anyone could enlighten me, I would appreciate it.

Thanks for the response. So from what I'm reading the only built in way to accomplish this is on the Luminis side – configman –s Person.uid.id_factory.class com.sct.pipleline.id.ToStringIdentifierFactory.

On the Banner side we don’t have anyway to control the xml file from icgorldi to include the immutable ID as the login ID as shown on 4.55 nor do we need to because of the above setting? I just want to make sure I understand.

I understand the risk of the login ID changing in Banner. What we would like to accomplish is to use LDAP to authenticate our users’ IDs and passwords for Self-Service Banner thereby eliminating PINs. Currently this only works with the immutable ID when logging into Self-Service Banner outside of Luminis (known defect, 1-3APWL5).

Be aware that if you do this, and the person's Banner ID changes for some reason, then you will be stuck in the same situation that led Sungard to create the immutable ID in the first place.
