LDN - Luminis Developer Network

We are running Luminis 3.3.3.79 and using SQL Server 2000 as the back-end for the luminis and uPortal databases. The SQL Server instance will be reaching end of service in late November, so I’m exploring replacement options for the server/database.

Has anyone migrated from SQL Server 2000 to SQL Server 2005 or from SQL Server 2000 to Oracle for the luminis/uportal databases? If so, what migration issues did you encounter? Also, is there a defined method for the migration? And lastly, are there solid reasons to consider Oracle over SQL Server? Any recommendations are appreciated.
