Learning JMeter

Good afternoon. I am looking at applications that we can use to load test our Luminis portal (we plan to install Luminis 4 later this year), and I am seeing references to JMeter. I was wondering if anyone had any reference websites that would be helpful to a JMeter beginner. I was also wondering whether anyone had attended any JMeter training courses. Thank you for your suggestions.

jemter doc

all I've seen is the Jmeter own docs - there's enough there to get going (a walk through helps you build a simple test)
