We're currently running the "old style" banner authenticator process for our single sign-on from Luminis to SSB. We're interested in moving to the new "middle tier" way of doing things.
I've read through the 160 page implementation guide (midtier70401im.pdf). I see the work to be done, but I don't have any clear idea of how many "gotchas" might be encountered along the way that turn an 8 hour task into a 3 week task.
If you have already implemented the Banner Channels for Luminis, and you have the new midtier processes up and running for single sign-on into SSB/INB, will you please let me know about how many calendar days we're talking here?
Thanks,
Todd
How much effort to implement Banner Channels/Midtier?
We just went live with Luminis IV.0.2/intcomp 7.3 last week. Our implementation spanned approximately a year. The Middle Tier portion of the implementation took several months. This was complicated by the fact that we were new to Luminis, only attended Luminis System Admin training, poor documentation, SunGard’s slow response to our service requests and working on other projects simultaneously. Now that we have installed the Middle Tier a few times now, the whole process takes less than two days. We have run into a few issues after going live with Luminis having to do with events. This is related to not truly understanding some of the decisions we made in a test environment. We are making adjustments as we go along. Good Luck!
