Here at Bangor University in Wales we've been using SSO to SSB for many years now with no problems. However, since a few months back, students are complaining that when clicking on the link which signs them into Banner Self Service, they are occasionally been sent to the Banner Self Service login page. Our helpdesk is getting swamped with calls from users who "do not know their UserID and PIN". Of course, this page should not be displayed during the SSO process.
The problem is usually overcome by shutting the browser down and then trying to log-in again.
Why would this problem occur all of a sudden?
SunGard have not really been able to offer any advice as they need to know when the problem occurs, but due to the fact it's so sporadic, it's difficult to trace, plus there's nothing written to the log files to indicate the problem.
We're using the "CORBA" method of authenticating (the runsesau script).
Would this be down to a timeout issue?
Any advice much appreciated as it's driving us crazy!
