Tomcat Error?

I’m having a problem that I’m wondering if any of you have experienced. We’re trying to put Luminis IV on a Windows platform. Installation and migration go well. In testing things and trying to apply certificates, we’ve discovered a problem. Our server keeps trying to direct things to our internal computer name (portal.xyz.lcl) instead of our external domain (portal.dickinson.edu). I’ve gone so far as to manually go through the configurations and all files changing any reference to “xyz.lcl” to “dickinson.edu” but still we get the error when trying to load the login page. We suspect this is tied to how Tomcat is being set up or functioning. Have any of you had any experience with a problem like this?

Before the installation, I remember we had to change "$CP_ROOT/install/install.properties" to reflect our environment. During the installation, this information was copied into various locations. Sungard has said that if we want to change our DNS name, that we will have to reload the entire L****** installation from scratch.

Not good news, I know but you might want to glace at your install.properties file and see if it reads "portal.xyz.lcl" before you get to far along in your customizations.
