LDN - Luminis Developer Network

Hi, I'd like to do some queries against the Luminis LDAP with perl and php. Everything works fine if I used the Directory Manager account, but I suspect this is not the best way to do it. Sort of like using root.

I can also bind as a regular user who is in the admin group (in Luminis). Again, probably not the best way to do it... is it?

How have other schools tackled this?

I read in another post that you can create a new user and add it to the HelpDeskAdmin role.

But, this does not give access to the courses in Luminis, which I'd like to be able to search, if possible.
