Strange: Titles reverting to old names

Out of the blue, some of our channels reverted to their old titles, and one tab reverted to a name that we changed a month ago in the fragment layout (for all users, not an individual user). It looks like all or most of the Banner channel names changed back to their original name. For example, we had changed "Banner Self-Service" to "Student Information System", and now the old name is back.

I asked our sys and database admins if any kind of restore from backup had been done, and they said no.

Has anyone else seen things randomly revert back to a state from weeks earlier? This is bizarre and disturbing. I'm really confused. Is there a logical explanation?

What version of Luminis are you running?

I've seen this. Same situation as you describe. In IV.0.2.

Plus, I've seen cases where the names of tabs were changed by the sysadmin... and some users continue to see the old names, until they reset their layouts. But others see the new names. Weird.

Thanks for the reply. We are running IV.1.0.22.

I've asked more people and so far I don't have an explanation. This seems like it must be a database issue. These titles are in the database.

Parallel Deployment

I've noticed that it's related to the fact that we have two web servers. One was not functioning for a long time. Recently it was fixed to function again. Now, when I log in and it's using web server #1, it shows the old titles. Server #2, shows the new titles.

But, we have only one database server, and the titles should be coming from there.

Fixed

Restarting everything fixed it. Apparently one of the web servers was caching some old data.
