Successfull Luminis 3.3 to Luminis 4 migration?

I am looking for anyone who has made a successful migration from 3 to 4 on Solaris or in the process. Curious to what issues you came across. What time frame was the migration made? What feature did you lose, if any?

Moving from LPIII to 4LP

I suggest you browse this site carefully. There is no one posting that will give you exactly what you want, but there are many posting that together will give you a good picture.

There are a number of institutions that have migrated to LP4 with no problem and a number that have moved to LP4 with serious problems. Take your pick.

It's interesting that a number of institutions have not yet gone to LP4. A survey that was done here a few months back indicated that 50% of the survey responders were still on LPIII. In fact, I was recently labelled as an 'early adopter' of LP4. I had no idea.

What if not DriverManager

hi,

I went through your ppt on Luminis III to IV migration. Right now we are on Luminis IV. You mentioned in your Lessons learned slides that "Do not use Driver Manager for jdbc connections". So instead of it what do you suggest to use. Is it that we need to use JNDI datasource? Is this for all custom channels specific to Luminis IV?

Yes, what would be a suggested alternative to the connection driver?
