Cache of TCC

Guys,

The caching of TCC is 5-10 minute waits which makes development very annoying.
I want to turn off this caching in Test environment...
Can someone know the command of doing this...

TCC Cache

Hi - we used Luminis 4.1.1.27 in a Traditional Deployment loaded on Solaris in TEST.

The functional consultant who hosted our Content Administration Training told us to execute the following:

configman - s TargetedContentChannel.cache.expiration 1

(She also said to set this in test only. I assume this is because of performance issues).

The parameter above tells Luminis to update channel contents every second. The parameter applies to TCCs only. Our consultant told us to stop and restart Luminis in order for the change to take effect. We took this action before CAT.

During our CAT, newly created layouts showed up immediately. However, it sometimes took a few minutes - but usually fewer than 15 - for newly created channels (including TCCs) to show up. (I believe that 15 minutes is the default). Also, as class attendees placed existing channels on their layouts, the channels did not always show up immediately. I think it was helpful for us to know that we were experiencing Luminis' expected behavior.

I appreciate your support...
I'm wondering, do you have experience in creating new skin (including new icons)...

Skin / Icons Research

You're welcome - I'm glad I could help!

Actually, I do not have any experience developing new skins or icons. However, last week, I was asked to modify our Email icon. I am not sure how to do it, but I plan to figure it out within the next couple of weeks. I have seen references on this forum to a file called nested-tables that I believe is related to icon and skin customization. As I conduct my research, I plan to review the following:

1. http://www.lumdev.net/node/703
2. http://www.lumdev.net/node/787
3. http://www.lumdev.net/node/41
4. Luminis SDK User Interface Customization Guide Release 4.1 (available on SunGard Support Site. Chapter 3 talks about customizing icons.)
5. Luminis Platform Content Customization Guide - Release 4.1 (available on SunGard Support Site. Chapter 2 talks about customizing skins).

Once I have figured this out, I will update this post. I should mention that we are using Luminis 4.1.1.27. Other versions of Luminis might have slightly different procedures.

Thx

thank you rhoward33...
Unfortunatly I don't have time for digging in skins as we are in integration phase with banner... we are running lp ver. 4.2
I advice you to upgrade to 4.2 there's new nice features like data confidentiality and sending SMS via channels and WYSIWIG editor...
Returning to skins, you are right concerning nested-tables. So after your permission, I will relay on you about skins my email same as my name in lumdev at hotmail.

New skins

Hey guys,
Luminis comes wtih two skins - classic and XP. The default skin is classic. You can install xp as well its a pretty easy to do change skins.

Step 1: Incorporate your new xp skin using ui_customization_guide provided by sungard. If you do not have it or know about it, email me and i can send it to you.

Step 2: activate the new skin in teh system administration center.

You should be done.

Once you know how to install xp skin, you can makes changes to your icons, css files etc in the skins folder and make your own skins with various themes (like for halloween, thanksgiving christmas themes etc)

Thank you,
