Tracking student organizations?
What is everyone using on their campus for keeping track of group organizations, members, sponsors, activities, dates, etc.?
There is a proposal to buy a software package that would do all of this; however it would make the group studio feature obsolete. Since going live last year, we still don't have a lot of activity in the groups, good initial response but not much returning use. I have added member profiles to the groups, but still didn't have much increase in usage. They like the feature list, but they don't think the features are on par with everything else they are using (facebook/myspace). I'd like to know too if anyone has abandoned their group studio for a different groups package, or if you have modified group studio at all to fit any needs that have come up.
Here a feature list of the software that we are looking at that is lacking in group studio:
1. Track which groups an individual has been in for the duration of their student years.
2. Track community hours for individuals and for which group the hours are attached to.
3. Assign different membership types, such as treasurer, secretary, etc.
