Luminis Term Load Procedure
Attached is the procedure we use each semester to load term, course, student, enrollment, and assignments from Banner to Luminis. We haven't had students in the portal very long, so I can't say this is tried and true, but it should be a good start.
A Note about step 7
Last semester we noticed that some student enrollments in course studio didn't happen. Looking through the ldi import logs we found that errors occured in the import due to duplicate emails. From what I can tell, if two different students have the same email address, one will process fine, and the other will have an enrollment error. Our fix for this was to create a pop-sel of students with duplicate emails and run ICGORODM in Banner for that pop-sel. That seemed to fix the enrollment issues.

Similar to what we do
Our portal isn't using any roles that aren't automagically updated by the LDIPERSON triggers (Sungard's and a few that we created locally), so we don't run GURIROL for new terms and haven't needed to, and set Extract Persons = NO in ICGORLDI.
In Step 4E, does Ventura have a mod that sends out an email after job submissions are completed?
Also, regarding duplicate emails, we have a set of triggers that catch and inactivate them after they're entered. It's a little hokey because it doesn't give the user immediate feedback that the email address is already in use, but it does send an email to that address stating so. Until I get told this isn't good enough, I'm OK with it.

Good to note step 3 isn't necessary. We originally marked it as an optional step, but have been running GURIROL just in case (we've been chaning our GORRSQL rules fairly often). Same with Extract Persons, hopefully that will save some time on the export/import.
Yes, we have a mod for the email when a job is finished. We're so modded, sometimes I forget what is baseline and what isn't. I didn't write it, but could probably get my hands on it if anyone was interested.
We're hoping the dupe email issue will go away when we have the entire student population using the portal. With the portal account creation comes a student email (gmail) so we are guaranteed no dupes.
