Award Winning Sites
So, I have a little bit of time to dream of where I'd like to take Luminis. A while ago, I spoke with someone who told me their portal had received an award at Summitt (I don't think its a very official award). So I've started thinking, what would an award winning site be like?
So I have two questions for the community
1 - If your portal has received any sort of special recognition, what for? How did you earn that?
2 - What would a portal be required to have to be "award winning"? (I realize its subjective.)
Simple opinion
Everyday I walk through our University Center to go to work, lunch, home, etc. I am always nosey, and peek at peoples screens. No one ever has our Portal pulled up on their screen. Everyone has Facebook pulled up on their screen. You could argue that many of the features of Group Studio parallel what Facebook offers. Why then do people use Facebook, and not the Portal?
When the opposite is true - when our Portal has created an active and vibrant community that people look forward to checking, and I walk around and see that on people's screens more than Facebook, then I feel that we have an "award winning" portal.
