Students getting access denied error

We are having a problem with students that are getting an access denied error message in Luminis. The accounts work fine when they are on campus, but when they are at home they are getting this error when trying to click on Annoucements, Email, MyCourses, etc. We have tried having them turn off the Windows Firewall, making the site trusted, turning off pop-up blocker. We have also had them try using Mozilla Firefox. None of the above has fixed the problem. Anyone have a clue to what else to try?

What version of Luminis are you running?

Do you have Active Directory Account Provisioning?

We had a similar situation about a year ago and it required a patch.

Norton

Are they using Norton internet security?   Have them try to disable the internet security part (without turning off the anti-virus part) for a while.  This software has created some problems for our users in the past.

port?

We had an issue where some CPIP connections were taking place on a different port.  Some firewall's at the network level (90% of the time they were at their place of employment) were not allowing a connection to the CPIP port.

What your describing doesn't quite fit into this, but wanted to give you the heads ups.
