Dupe email address prevents new user build thru the LMB
We have Banner 8 running on a HP-UX 11.23 rx6600. We have the brokers communication between it and the Luminis box (Sun). We have many cases where a student won't get imported/built in Luminis because the email they have specified is the same as one or more other users. If one of these entries is imported via "cptool import ims <filename>" then we get an error with the error and student ID. This is fine.
The problem we are having is when a new student comes to Luminis through the Message Broker we don't know of the problem; they just don't get added! Is there a message logged in a log someplace when this error is encountered during a Message Broker event? We looked several places and didn't see it.
Any ideas? TIA, Lee

We find those errors in $CP_ROOT/logs/ldi-error.log:

can I force two users to have the same email address
I have just run afoul of the problem where "email address is not unique" is causing a user account to be left uncreated.
Is there anyway to override this constraint so that a) the user account will be created and b) hopefully the account will have the same email address?
In Accounts created prior to Luminis 4.3, it was possible to have no email address. However now, when I do not include an email field in the IMS xml file the system helpfully generates one for me (username@myserverhost.leeds.ac.uk). This email is not usable.
Is there any way I can go back to creating an account without an email address (null?)
