Want SSB link in channel to open a new window

We want to have a link in a channel that uses ssb sso to open in a new window. It's possible to do this with a ssb link using " target="_new after the procedure name using web tailor. I get an error when using the same code as a link in a channel. I'm using web tailor and adding a new preference to add the link. I've tried both an ssb type and web type but neither work. Has anyone gotten this to work?

I think you would need to modify the XSL files in either bannerCommon.car or gc_nav.car. One of those should have the stylesheets that translate the Banner XML data into HTML for display.
