LDN - Luminis Developer Network

Prioritizing or re-ordering the announcements in the Personal Announcements channel is a common Luminis request I hear. Our district was no different. With all of the messages sent from Course Studio, Group Studio, and Targeted Messages, other important messages (like Banner Smart Events) blend in with the rest or get pushed off the list.

Our solution was to implement 3 Changes:

1. Increase the number of announcements shown in the channel (ABMWebApp.MaxHeaders)
2. Make the channel content scroll if it grows too large
3. Add Icons and formatting to announcements to draw attention

Example:

#2 and #3 are custom mods. This page applies mostly to #3 (I'll make code for #2 available in a future post). It fits in with our "Custom Luminis UI" project we're hosting in the SVN repository. UPDATE: I updated these mods to work with Luminis 4.3.0. I've updated the svn repo, but the update breaks these mods for 4.2.x. If you would like to use them for 4.2.x, then you can always use the old code as of revision 73. Link:
