My school has started experimenting with Luminis Groups. So far, it's going pretty well and the college community is pleased with the results they are getting in their respective groups.
Our question is this.....It's been observed that if a group leader creates an announcement for the group's home page, that announcement also gets posted in the main Personal Announcement channel on the Luminis main page for every member of that group. If a member deletes the announcement message off the Luminis main page, it also gets deleted from the Group's Homepage for that individual when he or she goes back into the group. Is this normal behavior for dealing with posted annouoncements within a group? Is there a way to stop that behavior and have the message delete only when the group leader wants it gone?
It appears to be so
You must be on Playform III.3.1 where groups now have the ability to send targeted announcments. We are on the same version and confirm this to be the way it works.
A message sent by a group leader is basically sending a normal Targeted Announcment... but to a specific group of people... so the relation ship of removing messages would be the same.
As for a disconnect... I have heard some talk about people trying to do this but we have not done any seperation.
A Luminis Group Question
Thanks for your reply. That being the case, I'm thinking about telling our Group Leaders to post those announcements that they want to hang around for a while as News or in the Message Board and then leave Announcements strictly for basically one time items of interest that they want to send to their group members.
