LDN - Luminis Developer Network

Greetings,
My INB link intermittently disappears. It is very random and rare. Sometimes it re-appears without restarting the webserver but it always immediately re-appears if I do indeed restart the webserver. Nothing in the logs to give any indication of what is happening. I have a SR in with the vendor for several months but no resolution given yet. IF anyone has any experience like this, please let me know. Thanks

I've followed another post on how to do uploads in a JSR-168 portal and have it working _successfully_ in uPortal 2.5.3.1 (which Luminis 4 is based on, right?).

When the portlet is deployed to Luminis 4 everything except the file upload works correctly.

The application has other forms in the portlet that work fine. What seems to be the difference is that this form has a multipart/form-data enctype attached to it.

Upon submission the application sees all of the values as non-existent. They just disappear.

The system I'm testing on is running Luminis 4.2.1.78 .

I've cranked up the CAPTCHA for new user registration. For those of you with accounts already - this won't affect you, but if you're creating a new account, the CAPTCHA is more difficult to read. Apparently the level it was set at was still allowing spam bots in.

If this doesn't hold them at bay - I'll install something a bit more intense. I'm trying to not have to install a CAPTCHA for every new post and comment, thats just irritating.

Our university is finally looking bringing application development in house as opposed to a methodology of buying pre-built applications and support. I more than welcome this opportunity, as I'll finally get to get my hands dirty with some real code.

How do we edit the content of "Bookmarks" channel? We just migrated from a luminis 3 to a 4 system and trying to change the links of the channel but could not.

I was wondering if anyone could tell me what files to edit to turn off caching in our development box? It would be great to not have to bounce the boxes every time a change is made. I am new to Luminis and fairly new to UNIX so any help is greatly appreciated.

Has anyone created a GCF for Astra Schedule VII? If so, would you share it with us? We are running Luminis 4.2.2.

This is my first time posting to this forum, so please forgive me (and guide me) if this is not the proper place for this question.

I'm working on Luminis Channels for Banner. While testing something, I restarted our production Luminis server. I looked at my banportals application and noticed that its status was "Not Loaded". Then I drilled down and noticed that proxyServlet was also "Not Loaded".

Just to let everyone know, that I did some HEAVY user cleanup.

If there were accounts that had never logged in - I removed them.
If there were accounts that had not logged in once over the last year and a half, I removed them.

This also successfully removed a ton of spam-bot users that had gotten in at various times when captcha wasn't working, or through other means.

This probably won't affect you at all, but I just wanted to put it out there, in the event you search your inbox and realize 3 years ago you actually did register here and amazingly enough you can't log in.
