LDN - Luminis Developer Network

Prioritizing or re-ordering the announcements in the Personal Announcements channel is a common Luminis request I hear. Our district was no different. With all of the messages sent from Course Studio, Group Studio, and Targeted Messages, other important messages (like Banner Smart Events) blend in with the rest or get pushed off the list.

Our solution was to implement 3 Changes:

I've received a few requests for our jQuery customizations lately, so I've decided to split them up into chunks (modules) and post them on the lumdev svn repository. This page will serve as the home for these customizations, but I'll probably do a post for each individual module also (mostly because I already have one for the tabbed content).

In general, our philosophy with these UI mods is that they should be light-weight and easy to manage/reapply to luminis. Since they are almost completely client-side, they act as more of an overlay to the baseline luminis functionality.

Hi all

Is there any way we can create an inventory list of luminis system running 3.3.3.64 version? (like Content, Channels, Groups and roles) So after we migrate, we can know everything is ok or not? Thanks!

I am slogging along setting up single signon for eCollege/MyLabs Plus. So far I wrote a GCF Connector to perform the appropriate Single Signon. (using the HMAC/SHA technique. This works fine, (except for the inability to deep link to an individual class) but now I am trying to figure out how to present this to students and faculty. Since only a small fraction of our classes use this system, it seems silly to put in a general purpose custom icon or channel.

Hi, fellow Luminis developers.

We are migrating to Luminis 4.2.2.34. We are starting "fresh" ....

1) I would like to know best practices for adding "homegrown" content on the server (example: html you wrote, jpg used in a Targed Content Channel, jsp, xml, etc). Currently (4.1.x - Production), we host much of our homegrown content in a subdirectories under a directory similar to the following:
/usr/luminis/webapps/luminis/setonContent/

Moved from Luminis 4.2.0.67 to 4.2.2.68. As always, learned some new things that may help someone.

* Do not mess with $CP_HOME/install.
At some point I went looking for disc space and purged files with names like backup-luminis*.zip. Not a good idea. These files are necessary for backing out a patch.
(You must back out to 4.2.0.0 before you can move up , you've got to get down to get up).

Recently we implemented Luminis 4.2.2 with a fresh install. We are using imported groups for many of our targeted announcement audiences. The process we follow is as follows: 1. user requests a TA complete with targeted audience and start date. 2. A student administrator creates a pop selection and uses groupmaker within Banner to create the .xml file. 3. Luminis admin then takes the .xml file and does an cptool import segement -r 4. Marketing then posts the TA with the targeted audience that was requested.
