LDN - Luminis Developer Network

We have Banner 8 running on a HP-UX 11.23 rx6600.  We have the brokers communication between it and the Luminis box (Sun).  We have many cases where a student won't get imported/built in Luminis because the email they have specified is the same as one or more other users.  If one of these entries is imported via "cptool import ims <filename>" then we get an error with the error and student ID.  This is fine.

I have a Flash form that sends an email directly to a email address specified in the form using PHP, is it possible to run PHP script on Luminis and if so what do I have to do to make it work, it currently does not work on a Luminis environment, but does work on a regular webserver.

authentication from custom code has a few steps

1.  You bind as the directory manager.
2.  The directory manager takes the typed in username and queries the ldap for the user's DN.
3.  You perform another ldap query, this time, binding as the user DN and the user typed password.
4.  You catch any errors, or otherwise determine if the bind attempt was successful.  
5.  You set a cookie, session variable, or some means of knowing that the user is logged in.

           Here at USD we have some banner modules. Our HR, payroll and some other modules are oralce apps. Considering that we want our employees to use the portal as well, we are thinking that providing single sign-on's to all the oracle apps could be another good reason we can request employees at USD to get to the portal. Now keeping this in mind, i searched for people providing SSO's to oralce apps from the portal but i didn't see anybody have any posting for it.

I copied the Financial Aid channel and modified it.  I wanted to add more customizations.  When I do I get an error in the cp.log that says...

We don't hot desk here at the University of Huddersfield. Each day we, the hard working staff of a noble Yorkshire institution, sit down at our familiar desk and login to our PC and then, oh tedious!, we have to login to the portal as well, using exactly the same credentials that we just entered to login to the PC! Wow, big waste of time! So say staff, and most importantly, so say management.

We just had our first technical call with BlackBoard about the upgrade from CE8 to BlackBoard 9, which we are hoping to do later this year.  A couple of answers they gave as far is the Luminis integration raised some red flags.  I'm looking for any schools out there that have gone to BB 9, or are planning to in the near future.  My primary concerns are as follows:

- the built in Luminis/WebCt integration will no longer work, which we figured going in

Very new to Luminis.  Is there a guide for implementing a Twitter and/or Facebook channel?  It thought it would be easy to find info on this but I keep hitting dead ends in the maze.
