LDN - Luminis Developer Network

Hi, What we are looking for is a way to, at the Luminis logon, to check password expiration and/or force change if expired. The main issue is we cannot just use the built in Luminis password security because this will not propagate to the other systems.

So we're being tasked to integrate a google mail SAML sign on, while keeping the form based normal log in through gmail.

We've got the password authentication synched up, so that's not a problem. The problem we're having is that if you have the form based login, Google is telling us that the SAML based login from Luminis has to come from a single source. Since the SAML request is passed through the browser, we'll need a proxy solution to handle the token transfer.

We have Banner 8 running on a HP-UX 11.23 rx6600.  We have the brokers communication between it and the Luminis box (Sun).  We have many cases where a student won't get imported/built in Luminis because the email they have specified is the same as one or more other users.  If one of these entries is imported via "cptool import ims <filename>" then we get an error with the error and student ID.  This is fine.

We are trying to modify the default names for our Campus and Personal announcements.  This is working ok in the channel admin UI, but the names still appear on the workflow pages and in the Manage Targeted Announcement page.  It appears there is an object.function that is reading some channel record somewhere to get the value Channel or Personal. The jsp we're looking at is:

I have a Flash form that sends an email directly to a email address specified in the form using PHP, is it possible to run PHP script on Luminis and if so what do I have to do to make it work, it currently does not work on a Luminis environment, but does work on a regular webserver.

We are evaluating our options for e-mail as we look forward to Luminis 5 which, as I understand it, will deploy with no e-mail solution built in.

We have been offering e-mail to our students for 9 years now, and there is a strong feeling that we should move away from supporting our own solution, as nearly all students come with their own e-mail address anyway. Faculty and Staff are on a separate e-mail system.

I am interested in your school's solution to email, now and into the planned future. 

Does anyone know which format Luminus is storing the secret questions and answers?

Specificly what format does luminis store the svcPwrsAnswers attribute?

We've been doing some extensive testing with the calendar in our test install of Luminis 4 and have hit some pretty serious issues.

For example, in Luminis III.3.3, using the Calendar Express functionality, people can invite me to an event by searching for my name "Paul Hughes".  My full name is "Paul Pierce Hughes", but the Calendar Express functionality under the hood will find my entry.

Load Balanced portal configuration problem / question.

In a new luminis go live, we configured a BIGIP F5 for load balancing by
allowing http(s) traffic to pass through to port 80 on the portal tier
servers (as specified in the parallel deployment guide...top of pg. 1-4).
Everything seems to work great in this http "passthrough" configuration
except we started getting these continual insecure errors inside cp.log
on the tier servers.
