LDN - Luminis Developer Network

I'm preparing to do my first Luminis upgrade (heading to 4.3.0.81 I think). As I go through the upgrade manual I came to a section about re-enabling SSL.

My linux admin swear's we're SSL enabled. As I look at what the instructions say to do to re-enable after the upgrade and compare that to my production system, I don't think we are.

The manual says to

configman -g web.secure.access.config

And to expect 3 lines. I have just one:

/opt/luminis/webapps/luminis/WEB-INF/config/websecure.email.xml

We're not using the built in email, we've got an SSO to gmail.

Hi all

We just installed 4.3.0.81 on our test luminis system running Windows 2003 OS.

When we use MS IE to logon to the system (SSL installed), a "Security Warning" message pop up asking the use "Do you want to view only the webpage content that was delivered Securely?" but no other browsers like Mozilla and Chrome.

If the use click "NO", everything shows normally but if some content will be blocked when "YES".

Is there any school successfully solved the issue? Thanks!

We have recently upgraded our Blackboard system from Campus Edition 8.x to the new Blackboard Learn 9.1. We have the AutoSignOn Building Block provided by Blackboard installed and configured in the Blackboard system. We also have a new dl system set up for BBLEARN inside Luminis. Now we are trying to configure the URL, however, it gives us an error on the parameters. How do we form this URL? Any help would be appreciated.

I've started learning how to add content / manage pages in LP5 (while still testing LP4->LP5 migrations) and quite often I'll get "Portlet is temporarily unavailable. " when trying to do admin things.

For instance, 'control panel, communities, pick a community, click the action button - manage pages, add a page, then click that page in the left menu to edit it' - that series of steps always produces a "Portlet is temporarily unavailable. " message on the last step.

Sometimes logging out/in fixes this, sometimes not.

Has anyone else run into this?

Well I have been working for the past few weeks on getting Luminis 5 up and running in a Development instance.

We currently have LDAP and CAS and single sign-on for a bunch of Marist applications, and then we have Luminis 4 that has it's own LDAP and CAS and does not single sign us into other Marist applications. We use EAS authentication, so we actually authenticate against our LDAP, not the Luminis LDAP

Hi all

We received a "Vulnerability Accessment Report" from VeriSign indicates there are couple critical Vulnerabilities on our luminis 4.2.3.34 systems (Windows 2003 OS)running Tomcat/Apache 5.5.0 web servers. Any other school has the similiar issues? if so, what do you do to fix them? Thanks!

We switched to Gmail as the e-mail service for Luminis (we use SunGard's Google Adapter) for about 1.5 years now. However, there is a random issue that we cannot really find the root cause.

By clicking on the E-mail icon in Luminis, users with Student role (no Employee or Faculty) will be SSO to Gmail, Employee and Faculty users (even they have Student role) will be redirected to OWA login page and they have to login on their own, no SSO for them.

I'm currently investigating how to migrating mailbox contents from our Luminis mail system to Microsoft's Live@edu cloud-based mail service, using live@edu's email migration tool.

One of the requirements for this migration is that we are not allowed to use the users' passwords. So, I'm trying to figure out how to use an administrator account on our Luminis system that has access to each users mailbox.

I'm looking for more info on Virtual Summit for 2012. I've read the info on SunGard's web site, but it does not list which sessions will be broadcast live and which will be available within 24 hours.

Do they usually make the Luminis sessions available this way?

Silly me. Somehow when we downloaded the 5.0.3 docs we did not pick up the new GCF Guide. I'd better read that first and then see if I have any questions...
