Load Balancing New LP5 Install

Hello,

I'm looking at setting up a new LP5 installation with two portal nodes using a software load balancing solution. I have some experience using Apache HTTPD with mod_proxy, mod_proxy_ajp, and mod_proxy_balancer to frontend my institution's existing uPortal service and our (external to Luminis) CAS service. Is a similar setup possible with Luminis? Does anyone currently employ such a setup in production?

Can anyone share any experiences regarding software load balancing LP5 in general?

Thanks,
Nick

Luminis 5 Guest Account

Does anyone have LP5 in a test or production environment that would be willing to give my school a guest login for a period of time? I've already watched the Sungard demos, but my director and I are very interested in a "hands on" demo so we can test the new functionalities. We won't be ready to do this in our own test environment for quite awhile.

If you can do so, please contact me by email at eileen.brouddus@washburn.edu.

Thanks,

Eileen Brouddus

LP5 and the version of Liferay?

I know LP5 started out built against Liferay 5.x but there was some talk about moving to Liferay 6.x. Does anyone know if they are moving ahead along side Liferay or are they are sticking with the original version of Liferay? If they are moving forward any feel as to when?

Disappearing SSO links to SSB content

Our lumV/Banner 8.5 development environment uses SSO to link to SSB processes When the links in luminis are presented they work - but we are having a 'disappearing links' issue.
Without making any INB data changes - using the same computer/credentials - it will work one time and not work another time - then work again.
Is anyone else seeing anything similar?

Luminis Portlet Development PreConference session needs more signups

Hey everyone, in order for the Luminis Portlet Development PreConference session at Summit 2012 to make we need a few more interested folks to sign up for the training. I think there is only a week or so left before they start making decisions to keep the precon sessions going or not. So, if you want in please sign up quickly.

LP5 - Portlet is temporarily unavailable.

I've started learning how to add content / manage pages in LP5 (while still testing LP4->LP5 migrations) and quite often I'll get "Portlet is temporarily unavailable. " when trying to do admin things.

For instance, 'control panel, communities, pick a community, click the action button - manage pages, add a page, then click that page in the left menu to edit it' - that series of steps always produces a "Portlet is temporarily unavailable. " message on the last step.

Sometimes logging out/in fixes this, sometimes not.

Has anyone else run into this?

Luminis 5.0.3 Success story

Well I have been working for the past few weeks on getting Luminis 5 up and running in a Development instance.

We currently have LDAP and CAS and single sign-on for a bunch of Marist applications, and then we have Luminis 4 that has it's own LDAP and CAS and does not single sign us into other Marist applications. We use EAS authentication, so we actually authenticate against our LDAP, not the Luminis LDAP
