I am specifically talking about 5.1, but any version of Luminis 5 should be analogous for this discussion. We are thinking about going with MySQL as our database for this install. Since the installation guide only specifies a version greater than 5.0, please do mention which major version of MySQL you are running.

I'm trying to write a script to manage custom Luminis roles based on external tables. Right now I've written it in Groovy using the groovy.sql.Sql object to query and update the LP_ROLE and LP_PERSON_ROLE tables directly. I've noticed that any changes I make to the data in these tables isn't immediately available so I'm assuming there's some caching going on.
i am having trouble creating custom luminis-banner portlet in luminis 5.
i have successfully been able to add my custom portlet option under banner-portlets ,which means portlet is being installed correctly i set up all the configuration files but still getting the following error.
any help would be appreciated a lot
2013-08-24 00:40:49,221 ERROR [http-8443-Processor22] org.apache.catalina.core.ContainerBase.[Catalina].[localhost].[/luminis-banner].[TITLEIV] Servlet.service() for servlet TITLEIV threw exception
We use an external CAS server with an external LDAP to authenticate users logging in to LP5. For most uses that works well enough. However, I've noticed that pickup response GCF connectors break when a user's password changes, given that: 1) Luminis doesn't know the new password, and 2) Luminis doesn't know that the old password doesn't work anymore since the authenticate and checkstatus blocks in the XML operations file always return true. We're slowly working on CASifying those apps for which we use GCF, but in the meantime we'll still need to store passwords in Luminis.
My institution, Owens Community College is implementing Luminis 5 with BEIS. At this time we are building our test environment. Would anyone be willing to share their load testing strategy? We are specifically interested in how to best load test our production environment without creating fake entities in your production environment.
Is Banner Enterprise Identity Services (BEIS) required for Luminis 5.x or is there a workaround to it? If it is required, how difficult was it getting BEIS installed and configured? If you want to mention some of the hurdles, or roadblocks, you encountered with it and how those hurdles were resolved, that would be greatly appreciated as well.
St. John's University | Division of Student Affairs is seeking a web developer for the Luminis portal. See job description here: https://stjohnsedu.silkroad.com/epostings/index.cfm?fuseaction=app.jobinfo&jobid=217642&version=1#.UeVvyUdcL7Q.facebook
I am wanting to get ARGOS setup in Luminis. I am new to Luminis so any information/documentation on helping to get this setup would be greatly appreciated.
I am looking to see if anyone has a working GCF connector for Office 365 that they would be willing to share? I would rather not recreate the wheel if I don't have to!
I'm looking for any information on the LDISP 2.0 XML file and how it needs to be setup. I've got a 2-tier system with admin, cas, and portal on one tier with an external LDAP. I need to import the users from the LDAP into Luminis with an LDISP 2.0 XML file but I can't find any more information on how to do this. If anyone has any tips or advice it would be greatly appreciated.
