Email channel error type 0
Greetings,
We are having some trouble with our mail in our portal (on the first day of term, of course).
When users log in, they see a general channel error:
Channel Error:
An unknown error occurred attempting to display the channel. This may be due to a configuration issue with the account or the mail server could be down.
When they attempt to visit the mail center, they get this:
Encountered an unknown error.
Restricting access to channels
I hope I'm in the right forum. We are just considering allowing students to add channels to their tabs. It occurred to me that they would then be able to load a channel that was meant to be on the Faculty page only (which students do not have access to). Students can see the entire list of channels. Is there a way to restrict this access other than restricting each section of each channel (they could probably still add the channel but not view restricted content, but that isn't what we want). Any ideas? Am I missing something simple?
Race & Ethnicity channel
We have the race & ethnicity self service page working in Banner, but there should be a luminis channel for this feature. I don't see it and assume it was never installed in our Luminis system. I understand I need a .car file. Any I idea where I get this file? I'm not having luck on the Sungard site. I see there is a Banner Channels upgrade 8.0.0.1 for this purpose, but that appears to be a SSB upgrade, and we're already at 8.4 in Banner SSB.
Channel displaying a URL with username parameter appended
My requirement seems quite simple, I've just never done any channel development.
All I want to do is display a channel containing a bit of text and a URL with the value of pdsLoginId appended as a URL parameter:
So, if my pdsLoginId is "Fred", the channel would contain the URL
"www.someurl.com?username=Fred"
Any guidance would be most appreciated.
Link to SSB Package - Need Help
Hello
I need a little bit of assistance from you guys. I am working with someone to try to create a link in a channel in Luminis. This link needs to run a package that was installed in oracle/banist1 and granted to www_user. This package is basically a simple Oracle package that gets the student's SPRIDEN_ID and then passes the student to another page with the SPRIDEN_ID in a form. This part isn't the important part.
Does Anyone Know How to Change Channel Audience Programatically in LP4
We are looking for ways to automatically change channel audience. I saw a post that points to the LDAP values that hold that data, but it referred to Luminis 3. Does anyone know how to do that in Luminis 4?
