LDN - Luminis Developer Network

I have seen several posts prior about using JSP to get the pdsLoginId, but have been unsuccessful as of yet. I have tried using several iterations of the following code. It seems to be an issue of the getAttribute method. I get null returned with any iteration of getAttibute. The getFullName method works fine. We are running Luminis 4.3, and I assume this is uPortal 2.6.1 (according to version.class in uportal.jar). Any help would be appreciated.

We have a problem about 'java.lang.ArrayIndexOutOfBoundsException' error in our cplog that caused fail to disply te login page of luminis portal.

The problem is caused by the grade release. Student is trying to connect with cpipconnector to degreework and that the dw server fail and causing too many session on the luminis.

We had restarted the banner application, luminis server, stopstart many times but still seeing a lot of session in cplog.

We're getting the following error messages in our Luminis portal channels, but only in the Employee channels. The student channels appear to be OK.

I'm attempting to pre-populate a php form with name and ID. I understand that I can pull that information from the iPerson object. I'm not sure how to do this inside of the form, though. You can view the form at https://csudb.csu.edu/webforms/withdrawal.php. I've already added the form to the Luminis server. Any assistance in getting the name and ID into the corresponding fields would be greatly appreciated!

We currently have two Sun servers. For load balancing reasons (that turns out weren't needed) we have core for "production" on serverA and its web servers on serverB. Similarly the core for "test" is on serverB and its web servers are on serverA.

We now have the need for ALL of "production" to be on serverA and all of "test" to be on serverB. In my current thinking, we will leave the "core" nodes where they are (serverA or serverB) and will just move the web servers to the server where the core resides.

i am trying to see if it is possible to convert this banportals.ear file to *.jar* file and install/deploy/run on tomcat server?

It seems we have to get off of our current Luminis IV resource tier (we are in parallel deployment). The choices I have are to P-to-V it and go with a virtualized Resource Tier, or to go on to new physical hardware.

In either case the Ellucian method is to follow the replication steps outlined in their admin guide. Is that truly the easiest way? Has anyone ever done this, or doeas anyone have any tips/tricks that may assist?

We had plans to Migrate from Lumins 4 to Luminis 5. From what I can tell that's not going to happen, as it appears no one has successfully in production yet. So that means we will be sticking with our current Luminis 4 system for a couple more years. It's running on old sparc hardware (7 - T2000's 7 front ends and 1 calendar) and (2- v890's 1 ldap and 1 mail. We have changed our mail setup to use gmail for students and weboutlook for staff and faculty. We are going to need to at least upgrade our sparc hardware...we would prefer to migrate to RedHat x86_64. Anyone have any experience doing either one of these? I would think that staying on sparc is possible, but would really like to change platforms. Thanks!

We have successfully created a deep link to a Banner Web survey that we are using in Luminis. However, the survey is only accessible while on campus (wireless or hard wired). Our other SSB links work off campus and I am trying to figure out how to ensure the survey is also accessible remotely, and without using VPN. Thoughts?
