We find that on some of our training machines when users click on a link that should allow them to import a component of a page, nothing happens. In the Java console we record the set of messages you see underneath the end of this post. Any ideas what might cause it? Is it something could be caused by low-spec machines? Thanks

Sometimes, I have to rebuild Luminis user accounts. Usually I export the user's full calendar data, then delete the account, recreate it, then import the xml file back into the new account. But I lose...
1) the user's calendar sets and
2) their subscribed list
Anyone know an easy way to maintain this information so the user doesn't have to rebuild these items on their end?
Thanks,
MLC
This channel will list all groups and courses a user is a member of. For each group/course if there has been recent activity (defined as activity in the last 7 days) they will be provided with a link that will take them directly to that new content.
we have purchased verisign ssl and wondering why the luminis portal can't use https://website on the URL line; it instead redirect to http://website...but once login the https appears on the email, admin side.....
Any idea or suggestion will be much appreciated.
Thanks,

For quite a while now, we have had a small number (estimate of 5 - 7%) of users show up with Mr or Ms at the beginning of their DisplayName attribute.
I have been unable to determine where this is actually coming from (whether it is programmatic or process-related) and I don't have much access to Banner to do any investigation on that side. It appears to be coming out of Banner, and it causes our Member/E-mail lists in Course Homepages to sort incorrectly.
Has anyone had this issue? Is it an issue that is easily fixed in Banner or LDI?
As promised at Summit 2008, attached here is the code and documentation for the U of S custom Luminis API. This API exposes portal data to your application developers.
I'm not sure if the installation instructions are complete; if you do try to install this API, and you stumble on anything, please let me know. I'd like to make the instructions as good as possible.
Thanks,
Todd
At U of S, we assign some temporary passwords to students and then mail them a letter with their temp password printed on it.
If a student attempts to log in with a temp password, then instead of getting into Luminis, we send them over to our identity management web interface, where they need to set a permanent password.
I have removed the java code for generating and comparing temporary passwords, so it may not compile as-is. However, you will get the basic idea. Also, you will see where we set a cookie on login. You could set your own cookie as needed.
Figured as I had not posted anything for a while I might as well post a status type update. During Luminis Idol it was pointed out that the Group/Course Activity channel I created back in 2005 as popular as it was no longer runs nicely. (For those unfamiliar with the premises behind this channel go here http://www.lumdev.net/node/426).
This was most apparent when Michael was able to demonstrate during Idol:
At Tulane we are early in a Banner & Luminis implementaiotn project, with Banner Finacial Aid set to go live first. We only have Banner Student systems, not Financial or H.R.
Has anyone implemented event processing from banner to Luminis? I have read the sungard manuals and have all the pieces but I do not know how to put it all together. I guess after I create my trigger, what do I do? where do I start? Does anyone have a step by step guide? Thank you
