LDN - Luminis Developer Network

I've noticed a few recent posts about schools moving away from Luminis (specifically to Liferay & Sharepoint).  I am curious why your switcthing, what your switching to and what else was considered.  Also, what do you expect to lose/re-create because of the switch?

(I'm in no way declaring my school is thinking of switching, I'm just curious of the reasoning.)  I am aware the Luminis & UPortal portals are pretty old school as far as a webportal is concerned.

Just wanted to wish everyone a Happy New Year. I'll skip all the resolution stuff this time and just thank you all one more time for making this site as successful as it is. Let's see where the new year takes us!

The addari theme is a bit too small overall... Even if I siwtch to Garmin... the login issue remains since the default theme for non-logged in users is pulled in... which is addari.  Some of the captcha image is cut off in some cases.

I have a SAKAI Tool that allows for integration with Banner via the IMS Specification. The tool supports

Many of our members have requested for more compelling content for their Oracle/uPortal/Liferay campus portals. Based on this need, CEAI has secured a special license agreement with the Associated Press to use Associated Press video news content and Associated Press' embedded news player. Based on the special license agreement with AP, this content is provided at no cost to all the CEAI, JA-SIG and Luminis members.

Is there anyone that has Sharepoint Portal and has added a web part with a link to SSO to Self-Service Banner?

Is there any interest in holding a Birds of a Feather session on Tuesday, April 15th from 4:30pm - 5:30pm at Summit? I had been looking forward to the Google Apps presentation since we are in the middle of our implementation and tying Google into our Luminis IV servers. However, I received the following e-mail last Thursday:

Please be advised that the session entitled, Luminis Platform/Google Apps scheduled to be held on Tuesday, April 15 4:30 - 5:30 PM has been cancelled. Unfortunately the presenter is unable to attend the conference.

I have a few questions regarding the Learning Management Gateway Installation documentation elearn30100in.pdf if anyone can give me any enlightened input - that would be greatly appreciated!
