LDN - Luminis Developer Network

Hi all

We just migrated luminis 3.3.364 system to 4.2.3.34 2 weeks ago. So far so good (we had some issues but we were able to handle them so far).

Some school staffs and students reported that their groups were missing and we just checked DB and confirmed them.

Did any of schools have similiar problems? how did you solve them if you did? We were thinking manullay exporting and importing between DBs. Any idea? Thanks!

Hi all,

I'm working with my google analytics. Just applied filters to make the tabs more recognizable in the reports (thank you LumDev!) and am wondering if anyone knows what this part of the URL refers to: tag.898d867f032d8075. I am seeing tab urls with that number and then 59f487965d884ab5 among others and I am wondering what causes the difference.

This year at Summit I had the pleasure of presenting/competing in Luminis Idol with some other very talented (and entertaining) folks. Later on I was asked to share some of our mods - particularly the "Tabbed Targeted Content Channel" code. Sorry it took so long, but I'm finally getting around to it. (Banner 8 upgrade has been consuming my life!)

Hello, everyone! ☺ There is a script in /usr/luminis/bin called addnewbookmark. Has anyone ever used it?

I ran it in our development environment (without fully knowing the implications). NOT a good idea.

Hello, all. We are thinking about the possibility of not letting our users add their own tabs. We ARE giving them one tab via their layout to "play" with.
How do we disable the "Add a tab" feature in the Manage Content/Layout screen (for users but not admins and layout owners)?
PS is this one of those permission things? ("Manage Permissions and Grants")? If so someone will hopefully have the time to walk me through it, as that is one complicated channel!!!

Suppose we have a tab for students that we need to turn on and off once in a while. Is there a way to do this in Luminis 4?
If I go to the layout owner for that tab, I do not see an 'enable/disable' option.

We just don't want to have to recreate the tab everytime we want it to show up.....

Or would I create a separate fragment for this tab, assign the fragment to students, and enable/disable the fragment?

Maybe I just answered my own question?

from a tab. This is entry into our Administrative Services Area. (I'm trying to cut down on clicks). I thought it would be just to cut and paste this into a framed url in the tab. I get to the page, however, it's doubled. And I can't get back.. I have to log out . I'm not sure why. Am I doing something wrong? or maybe just not thinking this through..
Any help is appreciated.

I created myself a new user, assigned all the roles: Student, Faculty, Employee. I added specific tabs to each of the layout roles, Student, Faculty, Employee, All Users.

For some reason I can't seem to have the Student tabs and Faculty tabs on the same layout at the same time. Faculty tabs always seem to make the student tabs drop off. As soon as I take off the faculty role from my user, the student tabs show up. I have plenty of room on the row, and can verify that all the tabs work for the individual roles.

Lets say you have a channel that you want everyone to execute each time they visit a tab within Luminis. An example could be a channel that tracks certain details about a person's visit. You can have this channel embedded into your nested-tables (or whatever) layout.
