LDN - Luminis Developer Network

Greetings,

I'm having a serious issue getting a new SSO link working. I took over maintenance of our portal after the previous developer moved on. I do not know very much about UNIX, and very little about Luminis. I've made do so far, but now I'm stumped.

We need to get this link working by Monday, and I've run out of ideas.

All we need to do is send the student ID (datatelId) via a form element to an external page. We do not need to get anything back from the external site, and do not need to encrypt the datatelId. Very simple, right?

I am trying to get all the pieces in place to run an outside application that we wrote to run over SSL through the cpipconnector. I have a .properties file and .xml file set up. The .properties hostmame, pickup.remoterul and externalSystemURL are pointing at the https website. I have also set up the system in es.systems.secure.login. For a while I was getting the "CPIP Notification: Unsupported OID service" error. Now that I've changed some other settings, I'm getting an "Unknown error occurred" message.

Ever since I applied hotfix 4.2.1.125 I have had many problems with the CPIP connectors. I was on the prior hotfix, 4.2.1.78, and there were very few CPIP connector issues. The problems with the cpip servers have become so bad that I restart them hourly with cron. Has anyone experienced problems like this? Also, has anyone upgraded to either the 4.2.2 or 4.2.3 branch and experienced CPIP connector problems?

Has anyone been able to write a script that will bounce the cpipconnector as part of a cron? Our situation is such that after backups on Saturday mornings, Luminis starts up before Banner, and our SSO to SSB link fails to reconnect without either manually running (https://myschool.edu/cp/ip/config?sys=sctssb) or bouncing the CPIP connector.

Any ideas on how I can automate this reconnection?
