LDN - Luminis Developer Network

We are brand new to Luminis and have run into an issue, and I am hoping someone with more experience will be able to advise us on how to handle this situation. Along with Luminis we are integrating with D2L. Before we installed Luminis onto our production server it was decided that we would use the spriden_id as our login to Luminis. Now that we have begun our pilot training, a few users have decided that they do not like the fact that their spriden_id shows up in the from part of the email address in D2L.

Hello, everyone.  We are using Banner 8.1 (soon to be Banner 8.2) and Luminis 4.2.  We are using EAS authentication for Luminis, but our alumni team would like for the alumni to use their Banner IDs and PINs for authentication.

Therfore, we would like to develop a script that cycles through each of our users and creates an alias (that is the Banner ID) for each user that has a Banner ID.  We were wondering whether any other schools have considered something similar.  Here is an algorithm we are considering:
