JAVA syntax meaning

Submitted by admin on Tue, 02/01/2005 - 14:07

I'm building a channel (.car) and this line is in it (from the sample framework I found).

LogService.instance().log(LogService.DEBUG, "myGroups.getGroupRequest(): " + SQL.toString());

I'm wondering where this logs to ?  As I understand it, its calling a Log Service (duh) and sending the SQL string to the log file.  However, I've greped the entire system and can't find a 'SELECT user_name' anywhere.

I'm assuming I need to enable logging or 'kick it up a notch' for debug ?

Hi Jon

You are correct - I think you need to change your logging configuration. This call to the log method is passing in a constant that determines at what level the message should be regarded. Since the level is 'DEBUG', you will not see the SQL string in any log file unless you have configured logging to log debug messages.

Alternatively, experiment with the LogService.DEBUG parameter - if you change it to LogService.SEVERE you will probably find your SQL string (logged as an Error) when you grep.
