The CodeStorm Concept

Submitted by admin on Tue, 08/25/2009 - 09:00

I posted an article  to announce a collaboration effort I'm calling CodeStorm.  You can read more about it here.
We've already had some great ideas about possible projects to collaborate on.
One that has had a little more activity than the others is searching
I'll create a new thread called Portal Search and we can further discuss how to achieve this successfully since people have shyed away from this function.

Luminis and Netscaler Load Balancing

Submitted by joshravi on Mon, 04/14/2014 - 17:14

I am trying to Configure the Netscaler to Load Balance the Luminis IV Portal Servers. And facing an Error "Service Timedout" and keeps refreshing with same error. Ports configured 80, 443, 6785, 6788, 9276, 8008 it is not working. But it works when we configure on only Port 80 and let the Application do all the Redirecting and Port stuff.

Can anyone help me on this...? this is kind of urgent, hoping to get some info on this...

Thanks in advance.

Submitted by bnason on Mon, 03/31/2014 - 15:47

I'm attempting to setup a dev box using CentoS 6.5 32bit and was wondering if anyone could shed some light. The installation is getting stuck on step 2053 with the error "/u01/luminis/products/ws/https-admserv/config/server.xml is missing"

The full output is below:

/bin/sh -c /u01/lmadmin/luminis_setup/LP- -nodisplay -noconsole -state /tmp/luminis-install/jes.state

Update JSVC / use java agents with Luminis 4.3?

Submitted by jtboehm on Tue, 03/18/2014 - 13:35

Has anyone integrated New Relic or another APM into Luminis (on Solaris especially?)

We are attempting to add application performance monitoring to Luminis but we have hit a snag. We run under Solaris, which is probably part of the problem. Anyway, many APMs (New Relic, etc) use a java agent.

Hey all,

Just a heads up that this morning our Luminis server experienced a small denial of service attack. We traced it back to several thousand https requests coming in for a CAS url (from our Moodle server), the entries were listed in

Disaster Recovery for Luminis

Submitted by jmalcolm on Tue, 02/04/2014 - 10:51

I know that this topic has been talked about before, but I wanted to see if I could gain some additional insight on disaster recover plans for your Luminis platform. We are currnelty on 4.2.3 and are in need of a comprehensive, holistic plan. Any thoughts, samples, etc. are much appreciated, even if you are another Luminis version.

Using same dynamic events queue for both Luminis 4 and 5

Submitted by kp on Tue, 01/21/2014 - 09:45

We are going forward moving from Luminis 4 to 5 and we were hoping to ease the transition by running both instances at the same time. Is it possible to run both Luminis 4 and 5 off of the same banner dynamic events queue? I'm thinking that we would need to create a new table on the banner side for this and have L5 point to that new table. Then have a trigger on the original table sending over insert statements to the new table. Has anyone done this successfully? Any other suggestions?

Evernote Web Clipper issue with Targeted Announcements

Submitted by tsamlal on Mon, 01/20/2014 - 17:29

It seems the evernote web clipper which I use quite a lot causes problems with Google chrome and luminis. If you are using this combination and are having problems with fckeditor in targeted announcements spinning tirelessly, use another browser or disable the evernote web clipper. Evernote web clipper in IE seems fine, and the compose window in email is not affected.

The error is as follows:
