I'm still working on our migration from Lum4 to 5, and one sticking point has been with our CMS. We use cascade server to manage all of our web pages and documents. On Luminis 4 we used a directory that was already there to publish secure documents to, so that users would have to be logged in to see them. With Luminis 5, we lose this feature due to Liferay. There is no directory that we can publish to that will allow only logged in users to have access to them. Ellucian said this is due to the document library in Liferay that forces you to use their process.
(Advanced notice - please excuse the wordiness)
Has anyone integrated Instructure Canvas (similar to Black Board) with Luminis 5/GlassFish/LMG. I heard Instructure was working on an official integration piece, but I haven't heard anything.
Any help or info would be appreciated!!!
I am trying to convert a fantastic Luminus 4 SSO JSP script to Luminus 5. I've gotten most of the bugs out but continue to get the following error. If I take the myPerson variables and place them in a separate JSP script, everything outputs without a problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Error Message: com.sghe.luminis.security.myqa.MyQAForcedSetupFilter:140 Unable to compile class for JSP:

We upgraded our Development environment from 5.2.2 to 5.3 right after the eLive 2016 conference without incident, but unfortunately our Development environment is not a true reflection of Production. We plan to upgrade Production to 5.3 this summer. Has anyone else gone live with 5.3 and if so, how was the upgrade process?
We are currently getting ready to move to the Luminis 5 Portal. We currently integrate with National Student Clearinghouse Self-Service Site using a Java Servlet and passing the Banner ID to them that way. With Luminis 5, has anyone developed a working Portlet with them, or something similar for SSO? Any help would be appreciated. Also, if there exists any getting starting guides with Portlets that would be helpful too.
We are currently on Luminis 4, and use Cascade CMS to manage the internal documents that we post to the portal. We created a Docs folder within /opt/luminis/webapps/luminis/jsp and this serves our purpose. Any document we publish to that folder is protected from public view, you have to be logged into the portal to open it. We want the same functionality with Luminis 5. Is anyone else using a CMS for their document management? Looking initially at the Documents and Media Display portlet, its not doing the same that we require from our CMS. Any thoughts?
Denison is looking for a Web/Portal developer to support the existing MyDenison campus portal infrastructure (Luminis V) and provide operational assistance in maintaining a multi-dimensional campus intranet. Serve as the primary technical lead for any new portal replacements or integrations with the ERP system, (Ellucian Banner).

We just went live with Luminis 5 about 2 weeks ago. Has anyone experienced any performance issues with the portal? We are seeing (at times) the login process taking upwards of a minute or more to complete the login process to Luminis 5. In addition to that moving from page to page can (at times) take 15 + seconds each. Interesting to note though, once the browser has cached everything in the portal we are able to move throughout the portal with ease.
The Academic Profile delivered channel lists the student's advisors.
Has anyone edited this channel to add lables identifying 'Primary' and 'Secondary' indications for the advisors listed?
We are getting requests to do this...
